Schedule:

  • Saturday registration 7am-11am, Scorecards must be turned in by 3pm
  • Sunday Shooter’s Meeting/Target Assignments 7:30am
  • Sunday Shotgun Start 8:00am

Shoot Rules:

Saturday Start at Either Target 1 or Target 21 – Do not shoot the course backward.

Stay on the designated marked trail when traveling to and from targets to maintain course safety.

Binoculars OK –  Range Finders OK

Shooter Stakes – you must be touching the shooter stake.

  • Adults – Orange
  • Young Adult (15 –17) – Blue
  • Traditional and Youth (12-14) – Purple
  • Cub (7 –11) – Red
  • Peewee (7 and younger) – White

Mulligans  – You may purchase up to 3 mulligans at registration. Only one mulligan may be carried over to Sunday. You must call the mulligan before it is shot. You may shoot both mulligans at the same target. Mulligans cannot hurt your score.

Scoring

  • Unless signs indicate differently, when there are multiple targets, you may shoot any target if it has the correct kill ring.
  • 40 Targets – 2 Arrows Per Target – Both Arrows 11/10/8
  • Arrows touching line score higher value – arrow does not have to break the line
  • Do not touch arrows or target until all arrows are scored and scorekeepers “OK” pulling arrows
  • Use double scoring: 2 persons in the group keep score and keep running totals
  • SCORES MUST BE TOTALED – TOTAL MUST BE IN “TOTAL” SPACE ON SCORE CARD
  • SCORE CARDS MUST BE TURNED IN BY 3:00 PM SAT, AND AS A FLIGHT SUNDAY
  • SCORE CARDS NOT COMPLETED CORRECTLY WILL NOT BE POSTED

Except for yardage limitations, and Nevada State Outlaw Class Definition, NFAA Shooting Rules apply.

The use of personal stereo or radio equipment on the course is not permitted – including headphones, bluetooth speakers, phone speakers, or other broadcasting devices.

Shooting Classes (excerpts from NFAA By Laws “NFAA Shooting Styles and Equipment Rules – Article II apply to all classes except Outlaw. Outlaw follows NBHA Nevada Outlaw Definition)

Bow setups are listed below in order from the most to least complex equipment. Each description outlines the maximum allowable equipment for that class. However, you may opt to compete in a more complex class—for example, an archer shooting Bowhunter Freestyle equipment may choose to compete in Outlaw or Freestyle.

Walker River Bowmen reserve the right to combine classes in the event there are less than three shooters registered.

Shooting Class Description 
FreestyleAny type of sight may be used.
Any release aid may be used provided it is hand operated and supports the draw weight of the bow and is not attached to the bow other than the bowstring. In the case of physical disability of the arms or hands, a chew strap may be used in place of fingers or release aids. 
The rear stabilizer shall not touch any part of the body.
Nevada OutlawAny type of non-magnified or optical sight may be used.
18″ Stabilizer or less or Full Quivilizer (minus arrow you are shooting) 
Any release aid may be used provided it is hand operated and supports the draw weight of the bow and is not attached to the bow other than the bowstring. In the case of physical disability of the arms or hands, a chew strap may be used in place of fingers or release aids.
Bowhunter FreestyleMax 5 fixed pins (sight must not move during shoot)
One straight stabilizer, coupling device included if used, which cannot exceed 12 inches at any time, as measured from the back of the bow, V-bar, counterbalance and string dampeners may be used.
Any release aid may be used provided it is hand operated and supports the draw weight of the bow and is not attached to the bow other than the bowstring. In the case of physical disability of the arms or hands, a chew strap may be used in place of fingers or release aids.
During a round no adjustments may be made to the bow and its related equipment unless equipment failure is recognized.
Bowhunter Freestyle LimitedMax 5 fixed pins (sight must not move during shoot)

Release aids shall be limited to gloves, tabs and fingers. In the case of physical disability of the arms or hands, a chew strap may be used in place of fingers.
Barebow/BowhunterBow, arrows, strings, and accessories free from any sights, marks or blemishes that may be used as a sighting aid.
The use of stabilizers shall be permitted.  The rear stabilizer shall not touch any part of the body.
No device of any kind, not including arrow rest, arrow plate or plunger button, that can be used for sighting, will be used or attached to the archer’s equipment.
Only gloves, tabs, or fingers shall be permitted, except in the case of physical disability of the arms or hands, a chew strap may be used in place of fingers.
RecurveBow, arrows, strings, and accessories free from any sights, marks or blemishes that may be used as a sighting aid.  No laminations, marks or blemishes on the face of the bow or in the sight window will be legal.
An arrow rest and cushion plunger are permitted.  There shall be no device, mechanical or otherwise, in the sight window except the arrow rest, arrow plate or plunger button.
No clickers, draw checks or levels will be allowed.
Weights and / or vibration dampeners are permitted. The bow, with any combination of weight(s) and vibration dampener(s) installed must meet the requirement of paragraph 6 without having to flex vibration dampeners to fit through the ring. Weight(s) and dampener(s) may be added below and above the riser’s grip, but must not aid the athlete in aiming or ranging in any way.
Gloves, tabs or fingers shall be the only legal releases.  Marks or lines may be added directly to the tab and shall be uniform in size, shape and color.  In the case of physical disability of the arms or hands, a chew strap may be used in place of fingers.
Traditional (Longbow or Selfbow) A one, two, or three piece straight ended bow constructed of wood or laminated wood with nonadjustable limbs.  When the bow is braced, the string must not touch the limbs between the notches on the limb.  The belly and the back of the bow may have carbon or fiberglass on them.
